Eazy Wonderland II (Chicago BW April 13)
So I'm not a huge fan of doing this, but here we go anyway.
The older stuff can be found *here* Welcome again, folks. As always crits, comments, and sometimes even nonsensical jabber are welcome. Drop by, say hello, and if you need to be harsh, be so. But constructive works even better. Cheers! Last edited by eazym; 04-13-2008 at 08:02 AM. |

i think you generally need to get a lil bit closer.
maybe its a comfort thing to stay a step back, but try a couple steps closer...

Some of them feel a little snapshoty, the composition does not feel like it's planned very carefully. In the last shot you cut the camera man and everyones feet of, while leaving lots of room at the top. I'd rather have it framed a bit more to the left to get rid of the arm at the right and get some air to the left of the camera man. The resting man and the gazers feel better compositionally, looks like you took more time to compose them. "Grumpy in Yellow" has the same problem, with the carrige cut of at the bottom.
I really admire your courage in doing street work of people you don't know, something I would like to be able to do. The scene is always changing, so I understand there is not much time to think before pressing the shutter. Considering that, I'm impressed with your work Mike, keep it up! |

eazym. maybe you can either practice a little more with where you cam needs to be, or get a rightangle adapter for the viewfinder (I'm assuming some of these are hip shots. That's the way I operate...)

thanks Morbid., yes, by far the hardest part of street photography is to see the scene set up and get it in time, before it is no longer there. still working on it.
@scient...: no, none of these are hip shots. not my way of shooting street. my cam is usually near my eye ![]() |

Look Close, Don't Touch
The gigantic and often whimsical saguaro cactus, native of the Sonoran desert, stretches one of its arms at sunrise in the Saguaro National Park (West), Tucson, AZ. With a lifespan of 150-200 years, it takes them about 70 years to grow their first arm.

Classic.
Would crop it tighter to bring the focus on him more though. I get distracted by the dark blur off to the left. |
