War vs. Japan DUMP (56k deathray)
I took a trip to Japan with a little Nikon coolpix camera, not the best camera but very small and easy to carry when walking all day every day. Not sure if this is the right forum, they are kind of a mix, but they are mostly landscape.
The places we visited, and hence are pictured at various points here are Tokyo, Takayama, Kanazawa, Osaka, Hiroshima and Kyoto. Enjoy, I'd love to know which are your faves. TO VIEW ONE AT A TIME Use this url and change the number 1. Goes up to 45. http://www.flamingpaper.com/art/2008/photos/mob1.jpg ![]() Takayama ![]() Osaka DenDenTown - The big electronics district there similar to Akihabara in Tokyo. Gundams are big there, hehe. ![]() A rickshaw operator along the Philosopher's walk in Kyoto. He had cool boots on. ![]() Among the only graffiti I saw in Japan, maybe I didn't look hard enough... ![]() On the Philiosopher's walk in Kyoto. I think this was a little temple or something. ![]() River that the Philosopher's walk runs along ![]() Temple roof in Kyoto somewhere...that day was a blur, we paid a taxi driver to give us a tour :/ ![]() Awesome photo take out of the window of a taxi in Kyoto. ![]() Under the aqueduct ![]() More cool roof ![]() Gotta love that architecture, and the green moss everywhere was a beautiful counter to it. ![]() On top of the aqueduct ![]() A graveyard on a mountainside in Takayama, it was halfway into this beautiful forest. One of the most somber, spiritual places I've ever seen. ![]() Hey aqueduct. ![]() Drainage is good in Japan, cause of all the snow and stuff. ![]() The colours! So beautiful. I think this was near the aqueduct, not sure. ![]() At a market in Kanazawa that me and my brother explored. Such beautiful food! ![]() Octopus anyone? ![]() This looks so post apocalyptic. There were loads of awesome little houses like this around, sort of a blend of traditional and run down new stuff. ![]() The Japanese are seriously big on temples... ![]() I'd only ever seen those trees in sumi-e paintings before. Crazy seeing them everywhere, like a living work of art. ![]() Gorgeous little river running through Takayama. ![]() Path along the above river ![]() Road running along the river. My brother bought like 2 little kebabs for $20 there hehe. Must've been good meat! ![]() Another cool house ![]() Takayama street ![]() The famous bullet train! The shinkansen. There are actually loads of bullet trains, here I was thinking there was like one hehe. We spent alot of quality time on them. ![]() Not sure where but this is on one of Japans incredibly efficient public transport trains at peak hour. ![]() Good luck remembering where this was...probably Kanazawa. ![]() This guy was having a snooze with his big cart full of cardboard. edit: 31 is a double, oops. ![]() The ubiquitous Japanese vending machines. No, we didn't find any panty ones. ![]() For all the nerds out there...Japanese retro game stores were common around Akihabara in Tokyo and Denden Town in Osaka. This one's in Tokyo. ![]() Akihabara, Tokyo. Electronics and games galore! ![]() Little scene out the window of a taxi. ![]() Toy vending machines are almost as common as drink ones. ![]() Houses on Philosopher's walk, in Kyoto. ![]() I think that's a Tanooki...he has big balls! ![]() House in Takayama ![]() At a temple in Kyoto. There was moss all over the ground. ![]() A temple out the window of a taxi ![]() Awesome traditional house! ![]() Hey puppy! ![]() Takayama streets show their age a bit. ![]() House in Takayama ![]() In a forest on a mountain in Takayama.
