:: Nature is emotion ::

Hey !
I open this thread to regroup may favorites landscapes and hope you'll like them.
Your comments and critics will surely help me to shoot as well as possible.

I opened a thread in "Scrapbooks" too where I put landscpaes, but I won't put here again. So if ou want to see them, it's here : http://www.photographymob.org/forums...read.php?t=130

I was looking for nice shoot in this cold morning and i made my first underwood photos.

2. 3.

4.
In this one, there is something i don't like. I don't know what. I like the contrast between orange and blue, black branches... maybe the distortion ? I don't know. What do you think about it ?

5a. original shoot

5b. new crop

Thank you for the visit

I actually think number 4 is the best one.

It has a nice blue tone in the sky that is lacking from the others.

Not a big fan of the sun flare in the other tbh, they seem to lack the depth that you have achieved in 4. The others don't really seem to much interest to them. They haven't got the depth, there is little foreground interest and there isn't really much detailed captured either (due to the silhouettes).

hope that helps ;]

Thanks a lot Grumbledook.
I found the interest in the lack of depth due to the "fog", and wanted to give a worry environment which is amplified by the back-lights. Thus, there is indeed a problem of sun flare I will tried to resolve in the next photo of this kind. But i think there is a problem of darkness too : on my mac it's ok, but on the PC, it's very dark.

I give you other pictures i did yesterday.

6 is excellent, I get cold looking at it (well, no, I get cold because the temperature has dropped 8 degrees Celcius in a week, but still). Excellent work, keep it up.

i like 4 as well, maybe if you darkened the color out of the ground area? you have some color in there still, some may think it detracts from the other great colors in the sky.

I like your exposure on the latest shots where the sun is the focal point, I like still being able to see some detail in the surrounding areas, and not having them totally underexposed that all detail has been lost.

Cant really get behind the last two, I feel like theres not really a good point of interest in them.

Love what you do with the trees in the first shots though. beautiful work.

> Are you talking about pics 11 et 12 ?

I don't undertand all subtilities yet about time of exposure with opening of diaph with my digital camera (I speak about handling of the material). (sorry, i don't know the right words in english)

I'm working on it and I will try other ways to shot landscapes.

I'm glad you apreciate underwood serie

Thank you purplerose, effectively the 15th is well apreciated, but me, it doesn't really touch me.
This morning was the opportunity of a foggy walk i was waiting for a long time. It was cold and i tried to go early in the morning. The battery of my cam brake down at the time when the sun gave its more beautiful colors !!! Argh !!!! So i don't have a lot of things to show.

16.

17.

I experimented differents exposure and "diaph opening" (i don't know the correct term in english), I've got to work to understand all potential of those parameters.
So, your comments are welcomed !

Dig.

these are beautiful, the colours feel retro futuristic (like 1970's fantasy record covers) and they have such a loneliness about them. i can't wait until winter brings the mists to Australia.

HE HE !
Thanks a lot. I wondered what about de treatment of highlights. But I had a problem of sky in branches that I wasn't able to resolve.
So i tried to get more light on trunks and played with several colors layers in right and left trees.

I don't know if it's the right thread to post : 21. Inhalation or invasion (already posted on D.A.)

The original shot is here : here

The transition between saturation/desaturation inspired me, I think.
But there was a lot of work, a lot of version. It was a long hesitation between a great aspiration effect and a "magnetic" effect. I was inclined to the last one because of the idea of "plunging" to another dimension, time. It has got thought the idea of unavoidable and fate.

Hi I love all of them there are some wonderful strong images here I also like the first one numbered 20 a lot it has a soft painterly feel to it. like you however i'm not so sure about 4 .I think it might be that to me there seems to be a conflict of perspectives on the one hand the orange is drawing you in on a flat plain but due to the way the branches on the trees grow and their height they draw in at the top centre giving the image a slight fish eye feel but then it's probably just my old eyes playing up again .....I have just read you comment under 4 and yes to me it's the distortion could have saved myself some typing if i'd paid attention first time lol

Hello !
As said on my "scrapbook" thread, I was working and didn't had enough time to be on PM or DA or CFSL.
This afternoon I posted a work in process of post-treatment. I have juste finish :
22. Strange feeling

Made for the month CS of CFSL "Another planet" (http://www.cfsl.net/forum/viewtopic....er=asc&start=0). In lack of time, cause of the dead lines of participation, I think it's suffering of a great desiquilibrium.

Very nice mood in the last one. I would crop out the tree to balance the composition a bit more.

LittleWoodenBoy, Purple, thanks a lot.
I loved the little tree on the left, and i wouldn't put off some sky or grass. So i took my pen tablet and worked again on it.
There are no great changes but, on my opinion, the composition is less "unstable"

22b. Strange feeling

If you want to see it in a bigger size, it's here (1500x1000px/72dpi/700Ko)

Hello !
I give you my last work. Is it a landscape, is it still photography ? I'm not really sure. But I hope you'll even like it

23 : End of breath

Something like a "step by step here (scroll down to see it) (if somebody is interesting by an english version, tell me, I'll try to traduce)

EDIT : I found a title, and add the numerotation.
