Part of my Senior work in Photography. I'm exploring mankind's tendencies to eliminate things that make us imperfect. Thought it would be interesting to depict this act of purging by showing different people pushing an unknown substance out of their mouths. I'm hoping that the variety of drip patterns will show that every person approaches purging in a different way and that it's easier for some than it is for others.

Hope that answers your question! It's syrup by the way.

Great portraits Jerrica! I absolutely love "Bundled", "Glow", and "Disheveled".
From the film photos I think I like Discovery best. It looks really fresh, has an awesome composition and a really good amount of detail. I'm not sure I like the composition in release your soul - looks a bit like cut-off-head to me. Maybe it would help if a bit of the shoulders were visible, too. Might be a matter of taste, though
Love the grainy film. What film did you use?

Thanks, I had the shoulders, but cropped them out because they distracted from the mood too much. Kinda like it with her elongated neck like this though.

All you need is some syrup, a lot of napkins, a plate, something to use as a reflector and a good light source.

Basically you have the model squeeze syrup in their mouth and let it ooze out while you take photos. As saliva gets mixed in, it adds bubbles.

I like the last one and my one crit would be the lack of rembrandt lighting on the right side of her face (from her view). See how the shadow cuts her eye in half, if you angle the light or move her head just a bit you will accentuate her cheek bone and bring the eye barely into the light.

Love your work, I hope to see you on here more often
